C.E.R.T.
(Community Emergency Response Training)

Experience has shown that following a major disaster, emergency resources are quickly depleted. Individuals and neighborhoods must be self reliant for the first 24 to 72 hours.

To assist residents and visitors of The City of Palm Springs to prepare for potential disasters the C.E.R.T. program has been developed. C.E.R.T. is taught regionally by Palm Springs Fire Dept., Cathedral City Fire Dept. and Riverside County OES (Office Of Emergency Services)

C.E.R.T. is a 20 Hour Course that is FEMA and State OES certified. The course is free; however, this is a nominal fee for the First Aid card, helmet and vest. The minimum age is 16. Pre-registration is required.
